Aston Villa to pursue legal action against Jamie Carragher
Aston Villa announced Friday they will take legal action against Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher over remarks about the club and its fans.
Aston Villa announced legal action against Jamie Carragher on Friday after the Sky Sports pundit told Villa fans to 'shut up' on the Stick to Football podcast. Carragher had suggested manager Unai Emery might be interested in the Manchester United job, sparking backlash from Villa supporters. He responded by arguing there was a hierarchy in football and that 'Aston Villa will never be Manchester United'. Villa chairman Nassef Sawiris said in a statement the club would not tolerate such treatment and would not be stopped in their 'ascension in English and European football'.
